The biggest Dragon in MHFU and one of the many milestones for every hunter. The first thing you will notice when fighting Lao is that his huge and I do mean HUGE. Your attacks won’t really show much effect unless you attack him where it hurts.
Lao is weak to Dragon-element-weapons. So you want to take one of those on the quest. If you don’t have one, the best alternative is choose a weapon with high raw-damage. If you want to go for for CCW (close combat weapons) that is. We’ll get to bowguns later. Anyway, if you face Lao alone, which is pretty difficult unless you have a decent weapon, the best idea is to go for his stomach with a hammer. It’s true that his head is weaker, but also harder to hit and you’ll need a lot of running around to be able to hit him properly. That mentioned it would be unwise to use the charge attack. You should only do so if you have no other choice. Otherwise you the 3-hit-combo to deal maximum damage. If everything goes well you will not only defelct but kill the dragon.
As for Bowguns. Make sure to prepare lots of crag shots and other explosive ammo. There isn’t much you need to look out for. Just keep aiming for his back and Lao will die in no time. Using bowguns is however only adviseable in a team. Using it alone will probably not deal enough damage to accomplish the mission.
